Bonjour!
I’d like to share a show —“Mickey and the Magician”— the very first one my wife and I experienced in Disneyland Paris.
The synopsis of Mickey and the Magician
The main character is Mickey, a magician’s apprentice. The story begins when his great master teaches him that imagination and love are essential to control magic.”
As Mickey was cleaning his studio, he suddenly found himself drawn into a magical world.
Beloved Disney characters—Lumière from Beauty and the Beast, Rafiki from The Lion King, and the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, to name just a few—graced the stage one after another. With dazzling songs, vibrant dances, and breathtaking illusions, they swept the audience into a magical dream.
What we felt watching it in person
To be honest, it was hard to fully understand all the nuances of the dialogue because Mickey spoke French and the Magician spoke English. Don’t worry at all! Even if you don’t catch every word, the characters’ expressions, the music, and the dazzling stage production are more than enough to make the story come alive.
The quality of the stage was truly Broadway-level. The cast’s powerful singing and dancing, and above all, the truly adorable interactions with Mickey, drew the entire audience into a world of dreams.

Especially unforgettable was the scene with Lumière, a real treat for fans of Beauty and the Beast. It felt as if I had jumped straight into the world of the movie, I was covered in goosebumps the entire time. My wife, sitting beside me, instinctively grabbed my hand, and we shared the overwhelmingly emotion. As the show ended, a gentle warmth spread through our hearts, leaving us with a deep sense of happiness. In that moment, we truly realized, “This is the magic of Disney.”

Reservations and Venue
The show takes place at the Animagique Theater, located immediately to the right after entering Walt Disney Studios Park.
Now, here’s the thing—this show is insanely popular! Entrance to the theater itself is free, but getting a good seat? That’s another story. To avoid the stress, we decided to book the Reserved Viewing Area in advance. It cost about €15 per person (prices may vary). Honestly, we hesitated at first—“Is it really worth paying extra?”—but just as the booking assistant recommended, it turned out to be the best decision we made.
At the moment, the show is temporarily suspended, but it’s scheduled to reopen on December 13, 2025. We were lucky enough to catch it before the break!
Arrive Early, Even With a Reservation!
On the day we went, we enjoyed the park’s attractions in the morning before heading to our reserved 3:00 PM performance. The official Disney app advised arriving 30 minutes early, so we showed up more than half an hour beforehand. To our surprise, several people were already in line!
And here’s the kicker—by just 10 minutes before the show started, the area outside the theater was packed with people. General admission is available, but since reserved guests get first pick of the better seats, most walk-ins ended up toward the back or sides. In fact, some people can’t get in at all during peak times. Our show was completely full! In that moment, I thought, “I’m so glad we booked ahead!”

In Summary
- Venue: Animagique Theater, Walt Disney Studios Park
- Reservation: Reserved Viewing Area (€15 per person) is highly recommended
- Reopening: Scheduled for December 13, 2025

If you’re visiting Disneyland Paris, this show is an absolute must-see. From the moment it begins, you’ll be swept away, and by the time it ends, you’ll be left with a memory you’ll never forget.
Until next time—Au revoir!
