Today I’ll be sharing about the final show we enjoyed at Disneyland Paris: “Disney Stars on Parade.”
In a previous article, I introduced the Nighttime Show, but this time it’s all about the main daytime parade. I’ll convey its charm as well as the differences from Disney parades in Japan.
A Unique Experience Unlike Japan! The charm of “Disney Stars on Parade”
“Disney Stars on Parade” began in 2017 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Disneyland Paris.
Just like Japan’s Disney Harmony in Color, beloved characters appear on dazzling floats, delighting guests with music and performances.
The biggest differences are the theme and scale:
- Japan → The theme is “A Vivid World”, with a colorful, cheerful atmosphere.
- Paris → The theme is “Magic and Adventure”, highlighted by the breathtaking float of a fire-breathing dragon! This dragon, representing Maleficent, is incredibly powerful—an overwhelming sight that you simply can’t experience in Japan.
Front Row with Reserved Viewing Area
This time, I wanted to enjoy the parade up close, so I booked the Reserved Viewing Area in advance (15 euros per person this day).
Although the app showed an 11:30 start time, I had learned from the previous night’s show that arriving early was essential. While my wife strolled around Sleeping Beauty Castle, I waited in the reserved area for more than an hour. Cast Members marked the section with poles and tape, so I felt I’d secured the front row!
By an hour before the parade, many guests with reservations had already gathered in the Central Plaza in front of the castle, so if you want a great spot, I recommend arriving about an hour early.
For reference, the parade begins near It’s a Small World, passes through the Central Plaza, continues down Main Street U.S.A., and ends at the park entrance. Since the route is long, you can see it without a Reserved Viewing Area, but in my experience, the performances seemed more lively near the reserved section.
A Moving Experience to Remember
When the parade finally began, the sight of the intricate floats and characters—just as if they had stepped out of the movies—left me speechless.
From the very front row, my wife was able to make eye contact with characters and exchange waves, which became one of her most cherished memories. Cinderella, who waved at my wife, was the same princess she had taken a photo with during Royal Disney Encounter.
There was also a touching moment I’ll never forget: behind us were a group of young girls, their eyes sparkling with excitement. Even though we had the front row, I instinctively offered them our spots and watched from the second row. In Japan, this is a common gesture, but in France, I hadn’t seen it happen often. Seeing how much joy it brought to the children, I felt truly glad that I had stepped aside.
Conclusion
“Disney Stars on Parade” was a parade full of power, wonder, and heartwarming moments.
As the final show of our trip to Disneyland Paris, it left us with unforgettable memories, and I am deeply grateful for that.
